Permanent pontoons at Falmouth's Greenbank Hotel

The Greenbank Hotel in Falmouth, Cornwall is now offerings its guests the chance to sail and stay over, with its private pontoons and moorings.

Perched on Falmouth’s historic waterfront, The Greenbank Hotel has announced that guests can now tie up alongside its own private pontoons.

The fixed mooring facilities can be used all the year round.

Sailing past the iconic Pendennis Castle and across the Falmouth Bay, guests can glide up to the Greenbank Hotel pontoons and moor their yachts.

Here, they can step off to refresh in the Greenbank’s pub, the Working Boat, before nestling in for the night.

All yacht owners must register their vessel with the hotel after tying up, and are advised to contact the hotel if they plan to stay overnight.

Only insured vessels of 20 foot or less will be permitted to moor on the pontoons, which will dry out on a low tide.

The hotel overlooks Falmouth Harbour

Guests using the Falmouth Water Taxis or Elemental Watersports can now be picked up directly from the pontoons.

The hotel believes the pontoons will be in demand for guests taking part in next month’s Falmouth Week.

The sailing regatta, which runs from 5-14 August, will see over 450 yachts racing, along with a lively programme of shore side events.

The Greenbank Hotel states that it is the only hotel in the south west with its own private pontoons.

It overlooks the third deepest natural harbour in the world – Falmouth.

It is surrounded by the Carrick Roads waterways, the Roseland Peninsula and the South Cornish coastline.
