Hand painted in heritage colours, Castlerose can accommodate up to six guests for city breaks to Manchester and cruises along the Bridgewater Canal.

Run by husband and wife, Steve and Stephanie Kitt, the canal boat is moored in the heart of Manchester at Castlefield Basin.

Inside, the open plan lounge-dining-kitchen area is inspired by the traditions of canal living.

It includes a log fire and chimney, as well as armchairs in patchwork colours. The space can also be turned into a double bedroom.

The kitchen is fully fitted with a gas cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, wine cooler and dishwasher.

A modern diesel fired central heating system ensures the boat is always warm when needed.

The master bedroom features a king size double bed and en-suite bathroom.

The second cabin can be set-up either as a two singles or super-king double, and shares a bathroom with guests staying on the sofa bed in the lounge.

Both bathrooms have flush toilets, porcelain sinks and modern showers with unlimited hot water.

On deck, there is front and rear outside seating areas. The stern is set-up with an alfresco dining and cocktail area for entertaining. The bow area is accessed through the main bedroom.

Stephanie Kitt says launching the business has been “incredibly exciting”.

“Cruising along the canals is something Steve and I both love, and to have a business dedicated to this gives us a great deal of pride and satisfaction which we would like to share with our customers,” she told the Manchester Evening News.

“Our offering is different to other canal boat hires as Castlerose is a luxury widebeam boat offering a unique city break location. Also our customers can have a skippered cruise, which may appeal to those who want the experience but don’t want the responsibility of driving,” concluded Kitt.

Skippered cruises can be organised to Worsley or the Old Trafford Stadium.
