This performance cruising catamaran is both larger and lighter than the successful Seawind 1160 range, and is designed as a true offshore cruising cat.

The Seawind 1190 Sport builds on the design and success of the Seawind 1160.

The new cabin moulding and extended hulls make it look longer than its 39 feet.

Its sleek design is accentuated by its window profiles and the carbon clear coat finish to the targa arch.

It has dagger boards and lift up rudders rather than low aspect ratio keels.

Like the ‘Lite’ model, the Seawind 1190 Sport uses twin electrically raised 20hp Honda outboards, instead of inboard diesels. This helps reduce drag and weight aft.

The rudders on the Sport are lifting foils, similar to those fitted in the company’s Corsair trimaran range.

The boat is about six tonnes, which is about 20% lighter than the original 1160.

As standard, the Seawind 1190 Sport comes with Aramid sails and an asymmetric spinnaker from Doyle Sailmakers.

Inside, the new 1190 favours rectilinear lines and light colours. Light grey flooring is used throughout the interior and light grey trim.

The ‘ground level’ galley is roomy with lots of natural light, leaving the seating area open and uncluttered. It features lightweight granite coat benchtops and a three burner LPG stove.

The Sport is offered in a three cabin owner version. The port and starboard forward cabins both boast queen sized beds. The aft starboard cabin has a double bed.

All of them have extensive storage and hanging lockers.

The port head has a large separate walk in shower, with wall mounted shower head and mixer tap.
