A unique opportunity to purchase St David’s lifeboat station on the Pembrokeshire coast has recently become available.

Boasting stunning views of the Welsh coastline, the RNLI have put the lifeboat station up for sale in preparation for the crew’s move to a new facility close by.

The life-saving charity is working closely with estate agent Savills to market the premises, with offers being accepted until 12pm on the 10 September.

The Grade II Listed building has potential for alternative uses but all would be subject to planning permission.

Constructed in 1911, the lifeboat house comprises of timber-framed walls clad in painted corrugated iron and a curved roof of similar cladding.

Savills associate director Daniel Rees said: “The phone has been pretty hot since it went out. It’s our most viewed property on the market at the moment. It’s a pretty exciting property, it’s not often we get the chance to market or sell a property like this.

“We haven’t got a guide price because we’re not sure where it will go, so we’re genuinely just inviting tenders and offers by September.

“It won’t be down to figures, the RNLI and the freeholder will want to look at what a potential purchaser wants to do there. That’s just as important because it’s in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and quite a sensitive area.

“They’ll want to make sure that whoever takes it on is going to preserve it and look after and do something that’s sustainable.”

The local planning department our believed to be open to suggestions when it comes to the sites development, but any interested buyers are encourage to get in touch with the council and discuss any potential plans.
