M/Y Divine is the second model in Columbus Yachts' award winning 40 m Sport Hybrid series. It also boasts green credentials. See pictures of the motor yacht here!

According to Columbus Yachts, M/Y Divine is a “unique green” yacht that offers “a completely new way of cruising”.

The motor yacht’s all-aluminium semi-displacement unit is powered with an advanced hybrid propulsion.

This system provides the yacht with diesel electric propulsion, and a performance range of between 3-20 knots.

A combination of the main diesel engines and two electric motors connected to the gear box allows electric powered cruising at a maximum speed of 8 knots.

The use of alloy materials has also helped reduce fuel consumption – at a cruising speed of 15 knots, the fuel consumption is 215 litres per hour for both engines.

All interior woods used on M/Y Divine are FSC certified and the leather is treated with a special non-toxic water painting process.

The three-decked aluminium motor yacht can host ten guests in five staterooms, and accommodate eight crew.

The owner’s suite and study is on the main deck.

Hydrotec Srl is the naval architect behind M/Y Divine.

To reduce the mass of the hull structure from the side profile and offer uninterrupted views from the main salon, the bulwarks feature glass cut-outs.

These also serve as fold-down balconies.

These are complemented by full-height glass doors, which were engineered by the shipyard to either slide or hinge open.

With the doors open and the balconies lowered, the salon becomes a floating terrace with unparalleled sea views.

Inside, the 40 metre motor yacht has an impressive headroom of 2.3 metres.

Designed by Hot Lab and the Palumbo design team, the interior uses clean, light colours and lines and plenty of natural light.

It also features an ingenious use of space. For example, the VIP suite can convert into two cabins if needed.

The main salon and full-beam owner’s suite have large windows.

The lower deck also gets plenty of natural light as a result of the use of a single window rather than classic portholes.

A well-designed bar is located at the entrance of the main deck.

Moving forward, there is the dining area seating ten guests and a lounge area.

Further forward, there is a fully equipped galley on the port side and a lobby on the right.

The main deck also houses the master suite, with a king size bed positioned in the centre of the cabin.

The master bathroom is equipped with two well-designed ‘his and her’ marble sinks on each side a large shower with glass walls.

On the upper deck, the relaxing atmosphere is enhanced by two huge sofas and one big rectangular table.

M/Y Divine will debut at the Monaco Yacht Show which runs from 28 September-1 October 2016.
