Twitter users mocked after revealing they thought that the Titanic was just a film

A number of naïve individuals have caused a storm on the social media website Twitter by revealing that they had no idea that James Cameron’s record-breaking film ‘Titanic’ was based on a true story.

The Huffington Post was the first to notice the trend and compiled a gallery of users and their uninformed postings.

Twitter user @boring_as_heck retweeted some choice remarks such as “The titanic was real holy sh*t im never gooing on a cruise” and “Guys, the Titanic was real! #mindblown”.
