The company says it's making one Predator 57 model a week and selling them for £1m each.

UK-based luxury boat manufacturer Sunseeker has sold 66 of its Predator 57 models since the range launched at the London Boat Show in 2015.

The million-dollar yacht, which nabbed Motor Boat and Yachting Magazine’s Motor Boat of the Year Award for Best Sportscruiser over 45 feet, is the fastest-selling model the company has launched.

The company’s chief executive, Phil Popham, said his company was making one of the boat models every week.

“We’re building round about 40-42 a year. We sold all we built last year and we’ve got orders going into the second half of this year.

“Every five days there’s another one coming online.”

Sunseeker is set to launch several new models of its yachts in 2016, including the Manhattan 52 as well as the 95, 116 and 131 Yachts.

The company also appointed a new Vice President for its US office, naming Steve Leeson to the role with immediate effect.

Leeson, who is coming to Sunseeker from Fairline Boats, has spent 28 years in the boating industry and worked in a number of roles in Europe, North America and South America.

Sean Robertson, President of Sunseeker USA, said the Americas are an important and quickly growing market for the brand: “With total sales up 326 percent year-on-year …we anticipate seeing even greater success over the coming years … We welcome Steve to the team and are looking forward to utilising his substantial retail, technical expertise and experience.”

Leeson said he was committed to developing the American market further as part of the Sunseeker team.
