RNLI crews and the local harbour master attended the scene on Sunday as they attempted to salvage the flooded vessel
A sailor and his dog were rescued from the Solent on Sunday after their swamped boat capsized when entering Christchurch harbour.
The 15ft vessel, which had begun its journey in Poole, became flooded just before 5pm, leaving the man and his dog floating in the water.

Nearby Brownsea Island launch Castello was in the vicinity and rescued the pair from the water, before landing them on Brownsea Island.
Poole’s inshore liferaft was quickly sent to the scene, with two crewmen attending to the sailor and his dog, while the Harbour Master’s patrol boat stood by the stricken vessel.
The lifeboat crew eventually took the swamped dinghy under tow and beached it north of Brownsea.
Salvage pumps were drafted in from Poole RNLI shortly after so crews could save the vessel.
With the sailor and his dog deciding to stay with the dinghy, RNLI crews attached a towline to the boat and took them all back to Lake Road slipway in Hamworthy.
