Ryde Inshore lifeboat came to the rescue of six people when their motor boat ran aground on Ryde Sands

The Ryde Inshore lifeboat was launched on Sunday, 25 September, after volunteers noticed a motor boat in trouble.

Triple Echo had run aground on Ryde Sands with six people on board.

Ryde Rescue 1 was promptly launched to assist the 22ft motor boat.

After the rescue crew had made sure all aboard were safe and uninjured and the boat was not taking on any water, they returned to the station.

Triple Echo waited for the tide to turn and then made their way back to Ryde Harbour.
