Two sailors were rescued from their 30ft yacht after it ran aground at the entrance to Pwllheli marina.

Two RNLI lifeboat crews were called and brought them ashore.

A spokesman for HM Coastguard in Holyhead said Pwllheli lifeboat and inshore lifeboat were launched at 11.50pm.

They took the sailors aboard one of their vessels and to safety.

The yacht rolled onto its side as the tide went out and has now been anchored.

The spokesman said that HM Coastguards are waiting for the tide to come in between 10am and 11am today (16 October) to allow the vessel to refloat before it can be brought in to the marina. As yet, they are unsure if the boat has been damaged.
