The Ron Holland-designed Kestrel 106 sailing yacht, conceived by Kestrel Superyachts and built by the Aganlar Boatyard in Bodrum, Turkey, is up for sale.

The ketch-rigged cruising yacht measures 32.4 metres (106 feet) and is being marketed by yacht brokers Berthon International and Stockbridge, who are jointly managing the sale, as an “entry-level” superyacht.

The Kestrel 106 launched in 2012 at the Antibes Yacht Show and was runner up at the 2013 International Yacht and Aviation Awards. She has four en-suite guest cabins and accommodates up to 10 guests and four crew.

Built in aluminium, the vessel is a large volume ocean cruising ketch whose underwater lines are refined for high sailing performance capabilities, and her large beam and superstructure volume allows for a spacious interior.

The superstructure and deck area of the Kestrel 106 is designed as an adaptable space with sliding seating units for relaxing, dining and dancing. The four cabins include a full beam master cabin, a large double VIP cabin and two further cabins with additional pullman berths and sleep 10. The dining areas both inside and out can also comfortably seat 10 guests.

The ship’s ketch rig allows the crew to keep the sail area easily controlled and means the ship is easy to handle. She has hit nearly 15 knots under sail, and cruises at a speed of nearly 10 knots under engine.

Kestrel 106 is now privately operated but could be re-instated to MCA Class for commercial charter use and would also be suitable for superyacht handicap racing. See photos of the ship below.
