The new Pershing 5X is to be unveiled to the American market following its world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.

One of the most eagerly anticipated launches at the Cannes Yachting Festival – the Pershing 5X – will now be showcased at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from 3 November, 2016.

The latest model from Italian luxury yacht builder Ferretti is the first in its “Generation X” range.

The Pershing 5X is the result of a collaboration between Ferretti Group’s Engineering Department, Product Strategy Committee, and Fulvio De Simoni Design Studio.

According to Pershing, the coupé represents “a new, astonishing chapter in the 30-year history” of the company.

The 54.2-foot motor yacht has sporty lines, and a maximum beam of 14.4-feet.

It has some distinct stylistic features such as side wings to protect the cockpit and four windows on each side of the hull, each with elliptical portholes.

The garage of the Pershing 5X can be accessed from the beach area when the door is open, while the cockpit can be reached via a few steps starboard of the garage door, or through a concealable gangway.

The cockpit is fitted with a large sundeck, headrest and a second sofa.

The area can be separated or joined to the salon via a special opening and closing system for the glass door and glazed surface.

The glazed surface above the cockpit can be electrically lifted, while the two sections of the glass door can be opened or closed separately: the upper one can be manually tilted toward the outdoor ceiling panel; the lower one opens into the interiors, creating a partition between the salon and the cockpit.

This helps ensure maximum safety when children are on board.

It also allows for the deck to be transformed into an open area from bow to stern, or to separate the interior from the outside depending on the weather conditions.

Down below, the main deck boasts lacquered frames and fabrics in soft grey shades,  interspersed with darker and contrasting details. The flooring is finished in a similar grey-tone oak.

The large windows on all four sides means there is an abundance of natural light. Over the helm station is a large sliding glass roof.

On the lower deck there are two cabins.

The 5X is the first Pershing below 60 feet where the owner can enjoy a full-beam master suite with an ensuite bathroom and a dinette in front of the galley.

There is also a double VIP cabin, equipped with bathroom, and a dinette facing the galley.

The Pershing 5X is available in two engine configurations.

Twin Volvo IPS950 D11 with 725hp, Z-drives and counter-rotating propellers gives a cruising speed of 30 knots and a maximum speed of 36 knots.

Alternatively, the owner may opt for twin CAT 12.9 engines, with 1,000 HP each, and Top System 75X surface drives which delivers a cruising speed of 41 knots, and a maximum speed of 45 knots.

Prices start from £770,000.
