Padstow RNLI lifeboat crew launched to rescue a yacht with propeller damage at 6:55am on Sunday 27 September.
The yacht had become tangled in the buoy rope of a crab pot, causing damage to the yacht’s propeller.
After cutting the line that was tangled around the yacht’s propeller, the crew towed the yacht back to Padstow harbour.
The lifeboat returned to the station at 8:40am.
The Padstow branch of the RNLI was formed in 1855, and their current vessel is the the Tamar class lifeboat Spirit of Padstow. The £2.4million boat was donated to the station.
In 2014, the RNLI rescued over 10,000 people, an average of 24 people a day, and volunteer crew members gave nearly 55,000 hours of their time to service calls.
Over 31,500 people volunteer for the RNLI on the UK and RoI, from crewing lifeboats to raising funds.
