The fearless Dongfeng team train blindfolded for the Volvo Ocean Race in this incredible video

Taking part in the Volvo Ocean Race means sailing in the toughest conditions, so China’s Dongfeng Race Team have come up with a novel way to prepare for the challenge.

In this video posted by their official sponsors Musto, skipper Charles Caudrelier blindfolds his team and sets them to work racing their high-performance boat, replicating the tricky conditions of nighttime sailing.

Taking place over nearly nine months, the Volvo Ocean Race is acknowledged as the world’s longest sporting event, covering four oceans and ten ports.

This year’s race kicks off in Alicante Spain on 4 October, with seven teams competing to raise the trophy at the finishing point in Gothenburg, Sweden in June 2015.
