Three teenagers and an adult onboard a RIB which overturned while 'playing' in another boat's wake were thrown into the sea near Gower
Four people had a lucky escape when their RIB capsized throwing everyone on board into the sea off the coast of South Wales.
RNLI volunteers from Horton and Port Eynon were called out to assist the four and recover their RIB in Oxwich Bay in Gower (pictured above).
The RNLI said that the RIB had been playing in the wake of a larger boat when it overturned.
A nearby leisure boat picked the four people out of the water uninjured and they were transferred to a lifeboat and taken ashore.
Lifeboat operations manager Lawrie Grove said: “It is fortunate that no one was injured in this incident and the boat did not land on top of them.
“I would remind boat users that they should always exercise caution when handling a boat at sea. Also they should ensure that when operating a powered boat a engine killcord is used.”
