The fire is thought to have been started deliberately.

Rescue crews from Halifax in West Yorkshire responded to a fire this morning that spread from a barge to the wooden jetty where it was moored.

The fire gutted the boat and also damaged a boat moored nearby in addition to the damage caused to the jetty.

The fire started at 4:40 a.m., and a West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson told the local Halifax Courier newspaper that it’s thought the blaze was started deliberately.

Fire crews extinguished the flames and left the scene around 6 a.m.
