Plus you can buy Olympic sailing tickets for just £35

Thousands more tickets for some of the most popular sports in the Olympics will go on sale at 11am today (Friday 8 June).

There are around 43,000 “contingency tickets” available for six sports – athletics, swimming, football at Wembley, volleyball, table tennis and boxing.

There are even available places for the much-hyped opening and closing
ceremonies, with Olympics organisers putting the surplus down to last
minute confirmation on the capacity of each venue and numbers of broadcast and other individuals attending.

In addition, there are thought to be around 3 million tickets still available for Olympic sports, the Paralympics and Olympic football in total, including for all of the sailing events at the Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy.

Whereas tickets for either of the ceremonies start at £995, watching gold medal hopefuls Ben Ainslie, Iain Percy, Andrew Simpson and the like, will cost between £35 and £55.
