The ocean race yacht built for Dee Caffari’s campaigns in the Vendee Globe and Barcelona World Races has been sold by a performance yacht brokerage company Whitecap

Dee Caffari’s Vendee Globe Open 60 yacht Aviva was built in New Zealand in 2007, replacing Caffari’s older generation boat that was half as powerful and one ton heavier.

“Concluding the sale of Aviva has been a great start to the year,” said Whitecap Director Simon Clay, who believes the Open 60 market will remain buoyant as racing teams put together campaigns for Transat Jacques Vabre and Barcelona World Race.

The yacht was advertised for £595,000 ex VAT. Details of the buyer haven’t been released.
