NEW CAT ENGINES FOR NEW SUNSEEKER SUPERYACHT

The world’s largest privately owned motoryacht manufacturer, Sunseeker International, has purchased a number of the new Caterpillar 3412E engines rated at 1418 mhp from UK Caterpillar dealer, Finning Power Systems, for its flagship Manhattan 84 motoryacht being launched at this year’s Southampton International Boat Show 1999.

Sunseeker International is unveiling the new 84 foot Manhattan – which is the largest semi-custom production built motoryacht manufactured in the UK – on its stand complete with the latest engine from Caterpillar, the new 3412E, which is also being launched at the show to the European market following its successful world preview in Florida earlier this year.

The 1418 mhp, V12, 27 litre Cat 3412E electronic engines have been specified by Sunseeker International as they offer the acceleration, fuel economy and low, IMO compliant emission levels required for the new Manhattan 84; a motoryacht developed to provide the ultimate in power, style, luxury and sophistication. Featuring completely new electronic control and fuel systems, the 3412E delivers considerable power, enhanced midrange performance and improved cruising characteristics.

The Manhattan 84 has been developed following the success of the Manhattan 80, a craft which is also available with a twin Caterpillar engine option.
