See the boats
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee pageant will bring over 1000 boats to the River Thames, ranging from historical tall ships to the royal barge, The Spirit of Chartwell. See a gallery of the stars of the Thames Diamond Jubilee pageant.

Follow the action
Motor Boats Monthly will be taking part in the pageant on a Sealine S28, and will be tweeting through on @mbmclub.

Kim Hollamby, one of the regular contributors to Motor Boat & Yachting, is taking part in the pageant in his own boat a wooden Searider 45 called Formanda. Follow his progress on Twitter on @mbyipc.

Diamond Jubilee flotilla route
The flotilla will pass a number of important London landmarks as it cruises the 7-mile journey from near Putney to St Katherine’s Dock. The Royal party will depart from Chelsea Pier at approximately 3pm. The pageant is expected to finish at Tower Bridge around 6pm.

Here are the timings for the main bridges:
Battersea Bridge: 2.25pm
Albert Bridge: 2.45pm
Chelsea Bridge: 3pm
Vauxhall Bridge: 3.10pm
Westminster Bridge: 3.25pm
Waterloo Bridge: 3.30pm
Blackfriars Bridge: 3.40pm
Southwark Bridge: 3.45pm
London Bridge: 3.50pm

If you’re looking to watch from the riverbanks, TFL advises that you reach your preferred spot by 2pm. See live travel news on the Transport For London website.

Most of the main bridges will be closed to pedestrians and traffic between 7am and 9pm (Albert Bridge, Lambeth Bridge, Westminster Bridge, Blackfriars Bridge, Tower Bridge, Millennium Bridge, Jubilee footbridge) and Waterloo, Southwark, London Bridge and Vauxhall are closed between 3pm and 5:30pm.

If you don’t manage to muscle your way down to the riverbank you can soak up the atmosphere and get a great view at one of the large live screens positioned around the city. The screens will appear at:

Victoria Embankment
Blackfriars Bridge
